Do you love Halloween and dressing up? Then we have the perfect night planned for you! The time is coming for this year's Halloween Carnival and we would love your help. The carnival brings all kinds of fun, imaginative, and immersive experiences to the Recreation Center: games, character meet-and-greet, "Lights Out"-themed haunted house, zombie laser tag, candy, magic shows, live animal shows, and most importantly FUN to our community. This is a free event for pre-registered members of the Provo Recreation Center ($5 for Adults and $4 for children for non Provo Recreation Center members). As a volunteer, you will receive one free admission to participate in the carnival on the shift you are not volunteering. We are expecting around 3,000 people at this year's event.We are reaching out to you to come participate and volunteer in this fun event!
Date & Location: Saturday October 27 at the Provo Recreation Center (320 W 500 N Provo, UT, 84601).
Time: We have three different volunteer shifts available. One shift is from 2pm-7pm, the second shift is from 6:50pm-11:50pm, and a character shift is from 3:30pm- 10:15pm. The actual event is split into two shifts this year with one from 4pm-6:45pm and 7:15pm-10pm.
- First Shift: 2-7pm, includes set-up and help with activities
- Second Shift: 6:50-11:50 pm, help with activities and take-down
- Character Shifts: 3:30 pm-10:15 pm, characters in our Trick or Treat Street and Story Book Rooms. They will need to be present the entire carnival, but will have a break half-way through.
Please plan on attending for your entire shift. On the shift that you are not volunteering for, you are welcome to roam and participate in the event. We also will plan on serving you dinner as a small thank you for helping us at this event.
What to expect: We are asking you to monitor and facilitate different activities throughout the carnival. This may include but is not limited to: helping participants with the games, decorating, leading participants through the themed classrooms, acting as a character and handing out candy in the Trick-or-Treat Street, running the zombie laser tag, assisting with the haunted house, or helping with registration.
To ensure that our volunteers are given the knowledge they need in order to do their positions, we hold a volunteer training meeting. Please try your best to make it to this meeting as it is for your benefit. The volunteer training meetings will be held on October 18th and 22nd. Again, you only need to attend ONE of the training meetings.

We would be grateful for your time to make Halloween Carnival the best that it can be! We can't run these event without the help of our amazing volunteers. We rely on you to help us make that personal contact with all of participants that is sometimes hard for us to do as we are running around throughout the event. It will be a great experience for all involved.
