Who We Are

Family Haveb has a primary purpose of preventing and treating child abuse and trauma. We support individuals and families in Utah, Wasatch, Summit, Millard and Juab counties.

Our Mission: To build a community of healthy, happy individuals and families through education and the prevention and treatment of child abuse, trauma and other personal and family concerns.

What We Do

Family Haven is a home of hope and healing and is centered on supporting individuals and families. We prevent harm, provide hope and heal relationships.

Our Programs & Services

  • Crisis Respite Nursery: Through services like our 24 hour Crisis Respite Nursery and telephone hotline, we are able to assist individuals in particularly stressful circumstances by caring for their young children under 12—including after traditional business hours during a crisis. Families often use the Crisis Respite Nursery for respite reasons (parents needing a break or to keep their appointments) M-Th 9 AM - 9 PM, F 9 AM - 5 PM.
  • Therapy Services: Our expert staff of therapists (LCSW, CSW, RPT-S) provides opportunities to heal from traumatic experiences. Professional counseling is available for children, adults and families whose lives have been affected by child abuse or other personal or family issues. Therapy is tailored according to individual needs and includes play therapy, sand tray therapy and other experiential modalities.
  • Prevention & Support Services: Educational presentations are made to local community groups and schools on appropriate topics such as personal safety, sexual abuse prevention, dynamics of abuse, dating violence, depression & suicide prevention. Parenting classes and “in-home” coaching is available, including for nearby rural communities. Adoption Respite services provides in-home therapeutic child care for families who have adopted a child from the state or foster care system. Additional services, including support groups and our Trauma-Sensitivity Initiative, also provide critical support and helpful information.
