Who We Are

Our Mission is to advance the quality and accessibility of healthcare.  We fulfill our mission by:

  • Serving our community through the Community Rehabilitation Clinic and other strategic initiatives.
  • Fostering learning and sponsoring research for students and faculty in healthcare fields.
  • Collaborating with organizations that have shared missions and objectives.

Volunteers are needed to assist in our two pro bono healthcare clinics for language translation or assisting with patient treatments. Spanish translators or pre-physical therapy or pre-speech & language pathology students are preferred. Generally, four or more hours per week during clinic and center open hours are required. The Center for Communication Disorders is also looking for role playing volunteers that MS-SLP students at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions can interact with in the Center as part of their curriculum.

What We Do

The services provided at the Clinic are free to the patients and is a collaborative effort between Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions Foundation, The United Way of Utah County, Mountainlands Family Health Center, Community Health Connect, and Intermountain Healthcare.

The Center for Communication Disorders serves the community, particularly the underserved and uninsured by providing free speech-language pathology treatments include assessment and intervention by licensed and trained practitioners and Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions Speech and Language Pathology students under faculty supervision. Assessment includes language, cognition, speech, swallowing, voice, and fluency for interventions of language delay, brain injury, stroke, apraxia, autism, stuttering, and other developmental issues.
