We’re looking for passionate, positive volunteers to give one-on-one music lessons during the 2025-2026 school year! Music has the power to boost confidence, spark creativity, and open up new opportunities, especially when shared by a kind and encouraging mentor. We offer piano, violin, and guitar lessons to kids and adults at the South Franklin Community Center in Provo. Private music lessons are one of our most popular programs, so we need as much help as we can get!
Time commitment:
- Once a week from September 2025 - April 2026 (except during breaks for holidays)
- You can take on as many students as you'd like, each lesson is 30 minutes. We schedule them back to back for you.
- Most lessons take place after school in the afternoons and evenings, but some adult students may be available during the day.
- We will match you with students based on your availability.
Volunteer expectations
- No prior teaching experience required, but you should be comfortable teaching the basics (most of our students are brand new beginners)
- Commit to coming weekly
- Communicate in advance if conflicts arise.
- Help prepare your student for our April music recital.
