Project Read is gearing up for our upcoming Spelling Bee on September 16th at the Provo City Library (more event details below). This event is a super fun, Project Read tradition that raises funds needed to support our literacy programs that enhance life-changing reading, writing, math, and digital skills for adults in Utah, and we couldn't make it happen without the help of our amazing volunteers. This is my favorite event of the year! It's fast-paced, exciting, and a lot of fun.
We are seeking volunteers to assist as:
- Helper Bees - provide team support and run answer sheets between team and judges (must be able to stand and move quickly)
- Judges - verify spelling and calculate team points (must be comfortable working in a basic Google spreadsheet)
- Video/Photography
Event Details:
Tuesday, September 16th
10:00 am-2:00 pm (lunch is served)
Provo City Library, Ballroom (Provo, Utah)
(We ask volunteers to arrive by 10 to help set up and for training but the actual game play starts around 11:30 am and ends by 1:00 pm. So, if you're not able to to come for the full 4 hours, but can for that time, we'd still appreciate the help!)
