We are seeking a dedicated and organized volunteer to help coordinate and support our Community Integrations Class—a weekly class for immigrants and refugees who are new to the area. Each session features a different community topic such as transportation, finance, healthcare, mental health, or the legal system, with guest presenters from local organizations.
The volunteer will serve as the key point of contact for presenters and students, ensuring that each class runs smoothly and that both partners and participants feel welcome and supported.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome students each week
- Communicate with guest presenters and help coordinate their visits
- Ensure the classroom is set up and ready for each session
- Troubleshoot any logistical needs during the class
- Maintain communication with partners and help schedule upcoming topics
- Foster a warm, inclusive, and respectful class environment
Ideal Volunteer:
- Organized, reliable, and comfortable with basic coordination tasks
- Friendly, welcoming, and culturally sensitive
- Spanish-speaking is a plus, but not required
- Comfortable working with diverse populations
- Interested in helping newcomers feel supported and connected
This is a meaningful opportunity to support integration and inclusion in our community by helping newcomers access vital information and build local connections.
