Who We Are
The Utah County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is housed at the Utah County Health Department. Volunteers with health care backgrounds are essential to emergency response. A system has been created where volunteers can be certified and practiced so that during an emergency those with credentials can step in and be used wherever needed, on the front line or in hospitals. Our volunteers consist of both medical professionals and non-medical individuals who are already identified, credentialed, trained and prepared to help when they are needed in our local communities. MRC units are community based and function as a way to locally organize and utilize volunteers who want to donate their time and experience.
What We Do
Utah County MRC help hospitals, health departments and other medical systems when they are overwhelmed during disasters and public health emergencies. All necessary trainings will be provided for volunteers. In instances of local crisis, volunteers will be able to quickly deploy to help their community. MRC Volunteers support local public health by: promoting disease prevention, improving health literacy, eliminating health disparities and enhancing public health preparedness.
